New Standard for the Fabrication of Nozzles

Almost arbitrarily shaped nozzles with micrometer precision 3D-printed via a Photonic Professional GT system. This allows for internal features and precisely structured orifices.

In a 2016 publication of Optics Express, researchers from the Arizona State University demonstrated the benefits of highest-resolution 3D printing for the fabrication of complex shaped nozzles. The underlying technique of two-photon polymerization allows rapid prototyping of a wide range of different types of nozzles from standard CAD drawings and optimization of crucial dimensions for optimal performance.
