3D Printing Security Features
Scientists from the group of Prof. Wegener at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the company ZEISS developed a new counterfeit security feature using our 3D microprinter! In their recent publication, 3D optical security features were manufactured. They are composed of a nonfluorescent 3D cross-grid scaffold and fluorescent markers which can be arranged freely in all three dimensions. Thus, those security features are not only individually structured, but also very complex in their fabrication, making it difficult for counterfeiters to copy them.
