Engineering 3D Microscopic Scaffolds for Cell Studies

March 23,2018

A deep understanding of cell behavior and functions is fundamental in the fields of tissue engineering, regenerative medicine and drug testing. The knowledge on cell growth and migration as well as stem cell differentiation gained here could lead to the development of new treatments based on cell/tissue replacement or on novel drugs.

Experiments in these fields often use cell scaffolds with study-specific 3D shapes and porosity to house living cells. Nanoscribe’s 3D printers offer extensive design flexibility and submicron precision for the creation of complex scaffolds widely used by scientists and engineers. The 3D design fidelity of this technique allows even to reproduce natural biological structures at the micrometer scale.
