The French start-up company SmartCatch is developing novel microscopic devices for cancer diagnosis and treatment. Using Nanoscribe’s 3D printer Photonic Professional GT scientists from the Laboratory for Analysis and Architecture of Systems (LAAS-CNRS) developed a novel capture technology for circulating cancer cells in blood samples through the use of a 3D-printed micro-perforated membrane. With the foundation of the company, the scientists bring this idea closer to clinical practice. The membrane can be used for early diagnosis of cancer, therapeutic follow-up and drug screening.

The company is jointly led by our customers at the LAAS-CNRS, urologist surgeons and oncologists of the University Institute of Cancer (IUCT) and Rangueil University Hospital CHU, in Toulouse, France.
