Zeiss microscope on the microscale

June 15,2012

503_6-ZeissAxioObserver.jpgShown on the right side is a miniature of a Carl Zeiss Axio Observer, one of the core components of the Photonic Professional. With a height of merely 150 μm, it is the smallest Zeiss microscope ever produced. Although non-functional it demonstrates impressively the capability of 3D Laser Lithography. Further examples of micro rapid prototyped miniatures fabricated with the Photonic Professional such as the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower and the Brandenburg Gate can be found here.
